VIKI FICKI gewinnt den GOLDENEN REITER KURZSPIELFILM (3.000 Euro) und den GOLDENEN REITER DES PUBLIKUMS (2.000 Euro / Preisstifter: MDR) des FILMFEST DRESDEN. VIKI FICKI won the GOLDEN HORSEMAN SHORT FICTION and the GOLDEN HORSEMAN OF THE AUDIENCE at the INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FILMFEST DRESDEN.
Jurybegründung: Der Gewinnerfilm hat keine Scheu, zu sagen und zu zeigen, was Sache ist. Er ist ein ganz unsentimentales Plädoyer für Mutter-Tochter-Solidarität. Schon weil solche Geschichten oft erzählt werden, überzeugt der eigene Ton, den die Regie findet. Der „Goldene Reiter“ geht an einen Film, der es nicht auf die Mitleidstour versucht, sondern mit Witz eine klare Ansage macht.

Director Natalie Spinell knows very well how to change between tragic and comic elements and never loses focus of her precisely drawn characters, who are emobied by two wonderful actresses. „Viki Ficki“ is directed in a wonderfully lighthearted way and is supported by great camera work. We want to see more!
VIKI FICKI wird im Rahmen der 17.REGENSBURGER KURZFILMWOCHE mit einer LOBENDEN ERWÄHNUNG durch die FFF Jury ausgezeichnet. Die Regisseurin Natalie Spinell versteht es gekonnt mit tragischen und komischen Elementen zu jonglieren. Dabei stehen die scharfgezeichneten Figuren, die von zwei wunderbaren Hauptdarstellerinnen getragen werden, immer im Vordergrund. Viki Ficki ist leichtfüßig insziniert und wird von einer tollen Kamera unterstützt. Man möchte mehr sehen!
The CAMBRIDGE FILM FESTIVAL wrote 'The high watermark of these shorts is Natalie Spinell's VIKI FICKI. It follows Viki, an eleven year old girl, and the pressure between her troubled school life and her mother's unusual profession. It is both very funny and affectionately touching. Lisa Vicari as Viki is a remarkable young actress, showing a maturity beyond her years and screen presence that is unshakeable during the often difficult subject matter.'
'Last up, VIKI FICKI is a worthy winner of the audience award. Endearing and consummately acted, it presents 11-year-old Viki's school life and her defiant sticking up for her mother against all comers. It's pretty easy to make a short film funny - which this is - but far trickier to develop so deep and convincing a relationship between its two main characters in just 18 minutes.'
Die Münchner Abendzeitung schreibt im Bericht über die HOFER FILMTAGE 'Schauspielerin und Jungregisseurin Natalie Spinell wurde mit ihrem Kurzfilm VIKI FICKI eingeladen. Es ist erst ihr zweiter Film an der HFF München und Badewitz findet ihn bereits 'richtig toll'. In VIKI FICKI hat es Viki (Lisa Vicari) nicht leicht mit ihrer Mutter (Karolina Porcari) und deren Berufswahl. Der Film zeigt frech und und gefühlvoll die Brisanz der Beziehung. Natalie Spinell brachte mit VIKI FICKI auf Anhieb Publikum und Kritiker zum Lachen und Klatschen.'
In UPPSALA the Little White Lies Mag found 'Viki Ficki, a well crafted and commercial short about a young girl who has to deal with her mother’s decidedly unconventional job. It’s very well done with some finely judged performances and a great central idea that makes it extremely enjoyable.'
